kayak question

Featured Replies

i'm interested in buying a sit-on-top kayak such as an ocean kayak or something similar to fish from.  I noticed that the fishing versions of these are a few hundred dollars more, with to me features that really shouldn't up the price that much.  So while at basspro yesterday, i noticed in the boat accesories section that they sell some fishing rod holders similar to the fishing kayak ones.  Now my question is, if i bought a normal sit-on-top kayak, if i could just drill holes into the body (plastic kayak, not fiberglass) and just mount my own fishing rod holders instead, saving me a butload of money.  :-?
