Bank Angler: Staying Successful Through the Summer

Featured Replies

Minnesota bank angler here and I have been having a great time recently while the fish are up shallow with all different types of fishing. With temps in the 90's here this past week it has me already dreading when the fish head out deep and are much harder to find for a bank angler like myself. Does anyone have any tips or tricks on staying productive? I know fishing sun-up and sunrise is my best bet but I'd prefer to be able to catch fish at all times during the day. Thanks in advance!

Fish at night. Use lures that are productive for you. Consider trying out new lures that people barely use in the area you fish.

Instead of fishing from sunup to sundown, try fishing from Sundown to sunup. At night the piggies go shallow again?

Protect yourself from the sun.

Thanks! It's a largemouth.

First off, I'm guessing you meant sun down and sun rise. Of the two I prefer sunrise around 5 am to be exact. You will benefit from the darkness and more than likely have the lake or pond all to yourself{especially during the week}

I'd love to go real early, but all the ponds here don't open until 7 am. And late is out since they close at sundown or 7 pm. :(
