Keitech Fat Swing Impact Swimbaits - Weight of 6.8" & 7.8"

Featured Replies

Does anyone know what the weight of the Keitech Fat Swing 6.8" and 7.8" sizes are?

I ask because I need to make sue I have a rod that can handle the weight of the lure + the hook.

Thanks

I believe both are under 1.75 ounces.

I stand corrected.

  • The 6.8” Keitech Fat Swing Impact has 3 baits per blister pack.
This “New” editions to the Fat Swing product line fill a gap for those Trophy hunters who have been waiting patiently. Salt water anglers will find this size appealing due to its size and durability. An individual 6.8 weighs 1.2 oz.
  • The 7.8” Keitech Fat Swing Impact has 2 baits per blister pack.
This “New” editions to the Fat Swing is the “Gran-Daddy” of swimbaits. Weighing in at over 1.9 oz. of Salt & Squid infused plastic. This giant size swimbait still maintains the “Perfect” Keitech swimming action.

Their words, not mine lol

I use the Owner Beast Flashy Swimmer with both of these. The 6.8 is 1.2 oz. With the 8/0 it comes in around 1.6 oz.  The 7.8 is 1.9 oz. With the 10/0 it is 2.4 oz.

Have you used the 6.8 with the 10/0 hook? Trying to see if it would be over kill.

I have not tried it nor have I seen a need for it - yet. When that bait gets bit, there's no doubt. I haven't had an issue with the bait interfering with the hook set using the 8/0. It is almost always time for Mend-it after a decent sized fish.

I have used the 6.8 and use a 8/0 hook. Works just fine
