i have my creek company float tube. i have waders. i have my pdf, and i have the flippers..

i need to get paddles. i saw that there could be 2, one on each side or one big one similar to a kayak paddle.

what are you guys using and which do you like better? any input would be greatly appreciated.

I have been fishing out of float tubes since 1987.  I too have used the flippers, but despise having to propel myself across the water backwards.  BPS sells some flipper type things that move you forward.  They are only about $20.  Mine have lasted since 1988 and I have done nothing to maintain them.  I bought some for my Father in Law and they have changed very little since I bought mine.  They actually upgraded the straps instead of cheapening things up.  I recommed you try these, much easier to fish when you are moving forwards, facing forwards, rather than backwards.  

I would not use a paddle/paddles with a float tube.  Just use the flippers.

I don't use flippers because I use my tube in the river and I wade at all the shallow spots. The flippers make it hard to wade. I use ping pong paddles for paddles to get where I want to go.

+1.  One reason I love float tubing is that I can fish and move at the same time.  I don't like fishing out of kayaks or anything that needs oars because when it's windy, I feel like i'm using the oars more than i'm using the rod.

Stick with just flippers.

I too detest having to go backwards in a float tube.  I was thinking of buying those flippers you mentioned, but everywhere I read about them they got awful reviews. Specifically, they said there was no thrust at all.  BTW, I checked BPS and couldn't find them.  If they do indeed work well, I wouldn't mind picking some up!
