  1. I am big Braves fan and was at the game. That was a horrible call, one of the worst of all time in my oppinion. However, if the Braves had not made three errors that let four runs score, it would not be an issue. I had my teenage daughter with me and was very embarrassed by the fan reaction. There is never a sufficient reason to throw debris onto the field.
  2. I have the Lews Tp and really like it. Another that you might consider is the Quantum Smoke, very nice reel.
  3. What is the difference between a lawyer and a catfish? One is a bottom feeding scum sucker and the other is a fish.
  4. an elderly couple were sitting in church when the man leaned over to this wife & said "honey i just let one of thoise silent farts, what should I do." she replied " turn up your hearing aid."
  5. I had a 12 ft jon boat with the trolling motor and pedisal seat in the front. There was so much weight in the front that the back was almost out of the water and it wouldn't track properly. I put an old broken trolling motor on the back for a rudder and it tracked just fine. I'm sure it would help with your boat also.
  6. St Croix and Loomis are about equal. Love both.
  7. Another vote for Quantum Accurist.
  8. Years ago I had a job selling boats. One day my boss told me to deliver a boat I had sold to a local lake, launch the boat and take the new owner for a test ride. When I got to the lake, the owner and his whole family were there on the dock to watch me launch the boat. I backed it in the water cranked it up and backed it off the trailer. It wasn't until I felt something cold around my ankles that I realized I had left the plug out. :-[ The only thing I could think to do was drive it back onto the trailer. However, I didn't take into consideration that the boat had a lot of really heavy water in the bilge so was a lot lower in the water. when I drove it back onto the trailer with the motor still all the way down, I hit the ramp and broke the lower unit. needless to say, the sale was cancelled and I had to look for a new job. :'(
  9. I am about the same size as you and I had a 10 ft jonboat that I used just once. It was way to unstable. I got a 12 ft one and it has been just fine.
  10. I always have a rod rigged with a topwater bait in the boat. Usually either a buzzbait or a frog. I don't always catch something on topwater, but I try one on each trip. My favorite way to catch Bass!
  11. I'm also a Quantum fan.
  12. Last year my team name was ConVICKted.
  13. My favorite is the bomber Square A, but I tried to buy some last month and no one has any. I checked on line at the bomber site and aparently they no longer make them.
  14. Tubes Chatterbaits Spro frogs
  15. I have a Olympus Stylus 1050sw that takes real good pictures and is water proof and shock proof. I paid $185 for mine but the same camera is on sale at fotoconnection.com for $151.99.
  16. 8# on all spinning reels 12 or 14# on casting reels except my jig rod has 60# braid
  17. I fish whenever I can find the time. I might look at a report to see what has been working, but it has no bearing on whether I fish or not.
  18. If you go and survive, just think of the story you will have to tell your grandchildren.
  19. Years ago I got a job selling boats. When I finally sold a boat the boss told me to deliver it to the lake, launch it for the customer and give him a test ride. When I got to the lake, the new owner was there with all his family to see the new boat. I backed the trailer down the ramp backed the boat off the trailer & started over to the dock when I felt something on my feet. I looked down to see water washing around my ankles. I had left the plug out. I sure didn't want to sink the boat so I gunned the motor & ran it back up onto the trailer. The problem was that with all that weight in the boat, it rode lot lower in the water. When the boat was about half way onto the trailer the lower unit hit the ramp & snapped off. Needless to say, the boat did not get sold and I was looking for a new job. :'(
  20. IN 50 yrs of fishing I have only broken one, and I stepped on that one.
  21. I've found that if I throw too hard with an abrupt start, it causes backlashes at the start of the cast. If I have more of a smooth speedup with an abrupt stop then thumb the spool, to slow it down, just before the lure touches the water I don't have backlashes.
  22. I don't want to stir things up here, but you all seem to be assuming the Perry bass really weighed that much. It was not weighed on a certified scale and had no independent verification. After seeing pictures, I for one, am not convinced it was really that big.
  23. I was hoping to come this year, but thats the last full week of tax season and I will be up to my neck in tax returns. Have fun and maybe next year.
  24. Several years ago I bought a BPS reel for about that amount of money. I think it was a Megacast. I liked it so much I bought two more. All three of them were worn out after one season. Plastic parts just don't last with hard use.
