  1. You can buy them from a fly shop, but they are expensive. I cut up an old bungee cord and got enough rubber leg material to last two lifetimes.
  2. I use 1/0, 2/0, 3/0, 4/0 and 5/0 hooks. About 75% of the time I use 3/0. I sometimes use 1/0 when finese fishing and I use 4/0 and 5/0 for flukes & frogs. I use regular offset worm hooks on worms & lizards and EWG hooks on thicker baits like frogs.
  3. Sorry the fishing wasn't better for you. I was planning to come over for dinner Wednesday to meet everyone, but I had two employees call in sick Tuesday and Wednesday so I had to work late to meet a deadline. Maybe next year.
  4. 10.1 caught on a 1/2 oz Chartreuse & white spinner bait with a white twin tail grub trailer. At a Private lake in Sharpsburg, GA. Caught one 8.5 on a Senko the same day, my best day ever.
  5. I would love to come over for dinner. Let me know what time.
  6. I have a 12' jon boat similar to yours and I found that it was too unstable with a pedistal seat on a deck built above the bench seats. I tore out the high deck and put in a deck about 1 1/2 inches above the floor in front of the front bench seat. A pedistal seat there works well and is very stable. I'll try to take some pictures and post them this weekend.
  7. I forget who it was that said "My greatest fear is that when I die my wife will sell all of my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it".
  8. I'm a CPA. I have two jobs. I work for the county government managing the budget and I own a small tax and acounting firm.
  9. A tax ID and sales tax number are two different things. A tax ID is for income tax and a sales tax number is for collecting sales tax. You will have to register with your state and collect sales tax on everything sold in state. I am a CPA and have helped a lot of small businesses set this up. If you have specific questions PM me.
  10. I prefer folding money!
  11. If money is really not an issue, have Reel Mech build you a custom rod on the St Croix blank.
  12. I got one for Christmas and fished it once just to try it out. It is a pretty good reel but I don't like it as much as the Quantum Accurists I use now. I am planning to sell it on E bay when I get around to it, but I will let you have it for $50 including shipping if you are interested.
  13. I have a pair of the gloves in the first link. They work great until they get wet (and they will). I replaced them with a pair just like them but made of wool that I got from Walmart. The wool ones keep my hands warm even when wet.
  14. Actually right now is a great time to trout fish around Atlanta. The Chatahoochee Delayed harvest in in full swing. I fished there Saturday. for more information on trout and fly fishing in North Georgia got to www.ngto.org
  15. I"d buy that in a heartbeat! I paid more than that for my 12 foot with trailer. By the way, I am 6' 1" 260 lbs and my 12 foot is not at all tippy. You should not have any problem with this boat.
  16. Whether it is required or not you should always wear a PFD in a float tube. Also you should have a sharp knife handy. I have seen float tubes flipped and the only way to get out of it if you are alone is to puncture the tube.
  17. I don't use flippers because I use my tube in the river and I wade at all the shallow spots. The flippers make it hard to wade. I use ping pong paddles for paddles to get where I want to go.
  18. I fished a BPS 7'M Crankin Stick for a couple of years and for the money it is a pretty good rod. Mine just stands in the corner of the garage now since I replaced it with a St Croix Avid.
  19. I've caught a 4 pounder on a 5 wt fly rod. It took about 15 minutes get it to the boat. With casting gear I would have just horsed it in. There is not anything more fun than catching bass on a fly when the topwater bite is on.
  20. Anything by Wilbur Smith! Most of his books are set in Africa and are very good. I especially like Hungry as the Sea and Eye of the Tiger.
  21. I agree that most of the ones mentioned are very good, but you can't leave off Young Frankenstien by Mel Brooks. Every time I watch it I almost fall out of my chair laughing.
  22. It beats the alternative!
  23. I use a medium light St Croix Avid with the smallest Pflueger President and 4 lb test line.
  24. I mostly use mine for Senkos and Ikas. It's my favorite rod.
