Trilene Big Game 8lb for shakey heads?
Can't believe you are having problems w invizx??? This is by far the greatest line that I have ever used... I have pulled up 20lb. Pike on only 8# on numerous occasions. If you have to go to a stronger line, I would check out Trilene Maxx...Still stronger yet you aren't going w so much visibility...

rick clunn reel
Main problem that I had with mine was that I just could not throw light baits...I don't mean light as in 1/32 oz. I mean light as in 3/8 ox. It just couldnt toss it further than 20 ft. I have heard this from many people seeing that I do work at a BPS. If you are going to use it for spinnerbaits or some other larger baits, thats fine. If you want a good all around reel go with the Shimano Citica. You can get these reels for the exact same price now at most places and IMO it is the best reel out there for under $100...Check them out see what you like but if you are going to be throwing anything and everything, go with a different reel...

Walking the Frog???
Can anyone fill me in on their technique when fishing with frogs...I have been told to "walk-the-dog" with them but when I am using my SPRO frogs I have a very difficult time actually doing this. All I have been able to do is get it to sputter or pop on the top of the water. I cannot get it to go side to side at all. I can use a spook or any other walking bait perfectly fine but I am having a horrible time at this. Can anyone shed some light on this for me. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated....Thank you in advance...

Deep Crank rod. Again.
I actually have a St. Croix Legend Tournament that I am looking to get rid of. I have only used it once. It is model # LTBC70MHM. If you would like to know more about it, please either check my post on the flea market, PM me, or email me. Hope to hear from you soon. Jeff jeffkoch34@gmail.com

New Spinnerbait setup, Looking for some advice
P-Line Evo 15lb....Great stuff...I have it on all of my BC reels... No reason for braid in this situation...Try the evo, great color, great strength, great knot strength, and its a copolymer (less visible, abrasive, stretch..etc.)

Shimano Curado D Series Reels....Discontinued???
Any idea as to why??? Also, is the entire series disco'd??? Will they be bringing the 300 back with the new mystery "green" series of reels???

Shimano Curado D Series Reels....Discontinued???
I have been scanning the internet as of late and have read on numerous sites that the Curado D series of reels has been de-commissioned. I have also seen these reels on sale both at my own BPS and Cabelas ... I am very perplexed by this move. I am more concerned for my musky arsenal bc of the 300 DSV. Why would Shimano get rid of this series when they JUST spent all that time and money to create this wonderful reel? Can anyone shed some light on this situation??? Anyone else have any info for me??? Please...anything!!!!

Issue with a Revo and chain store. Kind of a Rant.
I truly don't understand how people can purchase a reel without first taking it out of the box and fully inspecting the item. Working at one of your "dreaded chain stores" I personally know that there are minor defects to even reels straight out of the box. When I see people ask for a reel and instantaneously walk away without even opening the box, sometimes even when it has a broken seal, is just beyond my understanding. People need to understand that a) you aren't the first person to look at most reels, there are defects even from a sealed product, and finally c) it is your responsibility in the end to make sure that there are no mistakes to your purchase. It's not rocket science people.

Shimano Symetre or ???????????
Daiwa Exceler...I like it for several reasons...most importantly a little bit smoother, more line capacity, and its about $10 cheaper. Hope this helps.

Will the best Fluorocarbon please stand up!?!?
In my mind there is no question here. SeaGuar InvizX is by far the best fluoro that I have used. I have tried XPS,Berkley 100%, Vanish, PLine, and both of the Yo-Zuri lines and I cannot say that any of them come close to the InvizX. This line has more than proven itself on more than one occassion including a 36" Pike from 30' deep without a single stray or fringe on only 8#. I will never again use a different line on my spinning reels until this stuff is discontinued...god help me. If it ever does...I will buy enough to last me the rest of my life. Seriously if you haven't tried this stuff...YOU NEED TO!!! ;D

New Crank Rod...Please Help!!!
I am looking at buying a new crank rod for this year. I have narrowed it down to a couple of options. 1) St. Croix Legend Tournament LTBC70MHM...7' MH power, M action 2) Shimano Crucial CRCC70MH...7' MH power, M action 3) Kistler Magnesium TS MgCBCGGM70...7' M power, MF action 4) Shimano Cumara CUCX72M...7'2" M power, F action I would like to stick to the split handle style of rod. I am hoping some fo you guys have had some experience with these rods and have an can help guide me into which one to buy. The price doesn't matter, but I would like to stick within these 4 different models. Any help would be much appreciated. I will be casting mainly 1/4-1/2 ounce cranks and spinnerbaits such as Strike King Series 3 or 4 cranks, Bandit 200 series, Strike King Red Eye Shad, Rapala DT06 cranks, Mann's Baby 1-Minus, and 3/8 spinnerbaits. I will be pairing it with either a Shimano Citica 200DSV or Daiwa TD-Pro...so a 6.3:1 Gear Ratio. Again any help would be appreciated

BPS Johnny Morris vs. Shimano Citica
I currently own a BPS Johnny Morris JM10SHA...the 7.1:1 version. However, I am not all together happy with it. I basically use this as a topwater rig. The rod I have paired with it is the Johnny Morris Sig. Series 6'6" MH. I don't really have any complaints about the rod however, the reel seems to just not live up to my standards. I don't feel as though when I set the hook there is "Instant Anti-Reverse", it seems like it slips a little bit before it actually catches. Also, I don't really like the Dual Braking System. It seems like just when I think I have it set right, the weather changes or something and I have to change the entire system. I was thinking about going with a Shimano Citica 200DSV. Any suggestions otherwise within that price range? Or am I just asking too much out of a reel at this price? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Eeeek! I need to tips on Fluoro
Stick with the InvizX. It is hands down the best line...not just fluoro...that I have ever used. I will never use a different line with my spinning reels and even my finesse/crankbait baitcasters. Stick it out and get used to the fluoro feel. You will not be disappointed.

Daiwa Sol???
I am thinking of picking up a Daiwa Sol 2500 this year. I already have a 6'6" M St. Croix Avid ready for a reel. Has anyone used the Sol and if so what are your opinions of it? Would you guys go with something else for this price range. This setup will probably be my most used spinning rod used for everything from soft plastics, topwater, live bait, and finessing(dropshot, shakey head, etc...). Please any and all feedback will be greatly appreciated.

LINE ON BAITCASTER
You should always put monofilament on before you put any braided lines on. Electrical tape will do the job...but not suggested. Match your mono to either the diameter of your line or the #test of the line. This should do the job....oh to connect the two lines, try a simple blood knot. Hope this helps.
