I am thinking of picking up a Daiwa Sol 2500 this year. I already have a 6'6" M St. Croix Avid ready for a reel. Has anyone used the Sol and if so what are your opinions of it? Would you guys go with something else for this price range. This setup will probably be my most used spinning rod used for everything from soft plastics, topwater, live bait, and finessing(dropshot, shakey head, etc...). Please any and all feedback will be greatly appreciated.

For the money I would look at the Shimano Stradic Mg.

It is a very nice reel.  I have a baitcaster Sol and I do like it a lot and thought about the Sol spinning but the Stradic Mg won me over because it cost less, weighed less and had faster gear ratio.

I have one. Best spinning reel I have ever used. Including stradics and sustains. SWEET REEL!!! You absolutely will not regret getting one!

just read the TT review, I LOVE the handle, it is honestly one of my favorite things on the reel.
