  1. Well, it is rated for 10-17. I will use 10 or 12, but was wondering about a brand of line.
  2. Guys, I have a 6'6" M/F casting rod that I use for light jigs and worms, and wanted opinions on a tough mono line in the 10-12 lb range.
  3. I guess the title says it all. I am looking for a general purpose medium rod. Light jigs, texas rigs, etc. Anyone have one to recommend?
  4. I see your point for sure, but as I improve, what kind of distance can I expect? Can most experienced guys pitch 30 feet? 40? I am just curious...
  5. I am just starting to work on the technique of pitching, and I am wondering what distance is a good one to be capable of? Right now, 25 feet is what I practice at, and can reliably keep the practice plug close to the ground and place it softly in a container.
  6. I handled one of these at the store and liked the feel a lot. Someone mentioned that Abu tends to rate their rod power a little conservatively. Being that I am on a budget, would a 7' or 7'3" MHF be a functional pitching/flipping option?
  7. Any of you guys and gals do any squirrel hunting? What is your preferred method?
  8. I was thinking of buying a pitching rod, but I am a little confused on what to look for. I have seen "pitching" rods in everything from moderate fast to extra fast action. Which is the preferred type?
  9. Gorgeous fish!
  10. Thanks to all for the opinions! I'll go look at some tomorrow.
  11. I am sure this is done to death, but perhaps you all will indulge me? I am looking for a low profile, left hand retrieve, general duty casting reel with a budget of 180.00. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
  12. I guess the title says it all. Is it just a preference?
  13. I am thinking that casting jigs, Texas rigged worms, and spinnerbaits would be my favorites.
