Blue Fox vibrax spinners
not sure how a vibrax would work on bass, but up here i kill the silvers (coho salmon) and king salmon on them. probably would work on lunkers though

Daiwa Tierra and Advantage
i have the megaforce on the tierra rod and it works perfectly for me (topwater and soft plastics). just my two cents

WD-40 on reels...
where i live we have alot of salmon (kings, humpies, and silvers) and steelhead rivers, i live in washington state btw, and alot of the old timers use it for scent. it actually does work. but i dont think enviromentalists would like it so much

Topwater in General
thanks for the advice guys! my rod/reel setup is a daiwa megaforce with 7.1:1 gears (i love the high speed), 303 tuf-line casting braid, and a 6'6" mh rod, soon to be replaced with a 7' rod. thanks again!

Topwater in General
hey everyone, i really, really, really, really, really want to catch my first topwater bass. i know a guy that fishes jitterbugs at night, but my boat isn't set up for night fishing. i have a couple topwater plugs i made, i also have some buzzbaits and a topwater frog. soon i will be getting a couple spro frogs (a black one and a green one) and i'm also gonna get the cabela's frog kit. i dont really have too much confidence in topwater (same with jigs and for the same reason) because i haven't even got a hit from topwater yet. just wondering how many of you felt the same way and ended up catching topwater bass.any advice would be great too. thanks! LJ

well i set out and tried it on my current baitcaster rod, just a berkely el cheapo. it actually came out better than i thought and only took me about 20 minutes all said and done. the pic below with the cork grip is my buddy's that he did today in about the same amount of time. and i gotta post up the megaforce haha Man, your foam grip one looks great. Looks like it shaped nicely.good Job! thanks! i appreciate the confidence boost! haha. i coulda got it a little better but i dont really care, it looks fine and serves its purpose

What to do with a V-Hull
ok thanks for your sharing your knowledge. my father bought this boat about 20 years for 300 bucks and it came with a grand new evinrude 6hp with no paint even chipped off the flywheel teeth! wroks as a great trolling boat. im gonna try and find a wider-style semi-v jon boat. thanks everyone! LJ

Any Flyfisherman?
i know exactly what you mean. last summer i found fly tying and i enjoyed it very very much, but doing it everyday for a good amount of time lost my interest. i also jumped right into fly fishing but used my dad's old fly pole. fly fishing is very fun but pretty frustrating at times. my advice: everyone should try it atleast once, both panfishing/bassin' and trout fishin'. also, fly tying is a good time waster and doesnt cost alot of money. just my two cents! Line Help?
Getting backlash out is a bit easier for me anyway. Just watch the weight of the baits you throw, that reel isn't going to do well with light baits. yep i do all my worms and smaller soft plastics with spinning gear. it's just unbbelieveable how the pros just quickly whip their rod using a tiny crankbait or worm, and get distance and no bird's nest

Favourite "dog-days" of summer lure
last year it was 4" TR power worms in tequila sunrise, but that's about all i knew how to catch bass on lol

Creatures on top
brush hogs work very nicely on top, but i would reccomend hardbaits too, such as zara spooks and jitterbugs, or hollow body frogs like the bronzeyes from spro LJ
