Daiwa customer service could not help, maybe you can?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am dear need for some parts for the spool of my Steez SV TW.

I opened my reel on the water, the spool feel out and some parts got lost.

Based on the following reel schematic (here) I am in need for the parts: 19-24

When I talked to the Daiwa service team (it took them 4 weeks after several calls) to tell me that I had to purchase the full spool kit in order to get some spare parts.

I am wondering if anybody has thoughts on how I could get these parts.

Thanks a ton.

Cheers!.

Pick up any used sv spool and take off the parts you need to fix yours. I’ve seen them as cheap as $50-60.

THanks.
Still not super happy about this solution, given that I would still have a spool lying around that I can not use. Also the parts that I need I could not find in the SV spool of my SV103.

Both spools use the same parts. I’ve taken dozens of sv spools apart to upgrade the spring and/or lower inductor ramp. Never once have any been different than the next. Daiwa has switched from the old style (black) lower inductor ramp to the new style (white) lower ramp and that’s the only variance I’ve seen. All the SV103’s I’ve seen use the newer style ramp. The newer ramp is the fix for sticking inductors that use to occur on earlier sv spools.

You can purchase each part individually from PLAT in Japan but it will run you about $40 with shipping.
