Tatula 150 Use

Featured Replies

I recently picked up a Daiwa Tatula 150 at a garage sale. What is the best baits for this reel? I know the added spool capacity and larger handle is good for horsing a fishing if need. Its a 6.3:1 ratio.

Depends on the gear ratio.

In that case what you have there is a very versitile reel.  IMO it would be too slow for jigs and texas rigs but would be excellent at almost literally everything else.  Not to say you couldn't use it for jigs and texas rig, of course you could, but I believe a faster reel to be ideal.

I use a 5:1 for mag/deep cranks like the 8.0 squarebill and 8/10xd.

In 6:1 would be ok for those too, as well as a good a-rig or swimbait choice.

That’s my favorite speed for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits, I’d try it for those

I wish they would make the 5:1 for lefties. I really don’t want to spend the extra money for a JDM reel but I might have to.
