Long time lurker, first time post. Just got a Pflueger President WPL baitcaster and know absolutely nothing about it. I picked it up because it was a left-hand retrieve, which is my preference with casting reels. I have not fished it yet, but it seems to be very good quality - even has the clicking tension knob and drag star. The "reeling" part is about as smooth as my Lew's, but again, have not put it to actual use. Does anyone know anything about these reels? I have looked all over and only found a written review from 2005 (http://www.tackletour.com/reviewpfluegerpresident.html). Not sure if I will hang on to it or not, but I would like to at least learn more about it. I know the President spinning reels are top notch.

I have a Pfluger president BC.  No complaints.  Smooth, takes a lot of rough use.  I will buy another one.  Good price point.

They're a fine reel. Compare to a similarly equipped Revo. 

Heard nothing but good.  If DVT says it's good, it's good.  One of our resident stars Bluebasser has also raved about his Pflueger BC's.  They will definitely be on my radar when I need more.
