Daiwa Rods

Featured Replies

I'm trying to put together a new worm/jig combo.  I just picked up a Tatula CT and now need a rod to pair it with.

I've handled the Zillion and Tatula Elite rod in store and loved the feel of them both.  I would've left with the Zillion but they didn't have a Fast action in stock.

I've been eyeing the Cronos on TW and was wondering how it stacks up with the Elitle and Zillion rods.

I have a cronos spinning rod.  It is basically a tatula with better components.  I like it a lot but it doesnt even have a hook hanger.

Typically Daiwa floods their product lines with variations which is what they are doing in the 150-200 range.  If you are set on Daiwa you cant go wrong.  They are all similar.  Pick one that fits your hand best or looks nicest to you.

The original plain Jane Tatula Rods are great and should be getting super discounted with the new model coming out.  Same blank as the Zillion.

7'2" Hf or 7'1" MHxf are great jig rods.

Can't go wrong with the Cronos rods, been using them for a year or so now. I have multiple Tatula Elites and they are solid rods too. Won't be disappointed in either. The sleeper is the Tatula XT at around 119.99 or so, 7ft MHF-7'6 HF. There is a MHXF Cronos in a 7'1. The Tatula Elites have a couple H/Fast in 6'9 or 7ft, then a few MH 7-7'3 MH/F. All I would recommend. Reel seats are the biggest difference with them.

I got the OG Tatula 7’2” medium heavy cranking rod. It’s my dedicated Chatterbait rod. Great rod!

I have the 6'10" MH/F Tatula and the 7'2" MH/R glass cranking rod (which is a great all around moving bait stick). Both are solid rods.

If you're OK with a 6'6 rod, American Legacy Fishing has the ZIL661MHFB for $137.97, and if you sign up for their email newsletter, you can take 10% off that, so about $125 for a Zillion rod.
