Requesting info about Diamond Valley Lake

Featured Replies

Requesting any helpful information about Diamond Valley Lake in Hemet, CA.

What top water lures have had success?

What color and size of worms seem to work best?

Best lures for trout?

Will be new to this lake and would like to have a heads up from those of you with the experience.

Thank you for any assistance!

DVL has been closed because of severe toxic algae bloom so check before going.

Don Iovino makes a DVL special worm that works good and Roboworm in morning dawn and MMIII are popular. Drop shot using finesse 5 lb to 7 lb FC is your best bet.

DVL is it was exceptionally clear water with depth of light over 25’ so the bass tend to stay deep between 25’ to 50’  depending on the thermocline. Any top water bite would be early dawn and late dusk if the lake is open during those time periods.

DVL has 3 dams and all have trout nearby along with the marina area.

Thank you very much, Tom.

It it appears the lake is still closed.  Looking forward to trying it out.  Looks like there are some good ones in there!

I appreciate your responses.
