Megabass Destroyer Daemos opinions?

Featured Replies

I'm looking for a new rod for light-medium texas rigs and whacky senkos.

I have the Destroyer FMJ, and am considering the Daemos.  It's a little scary ordering one without being able to get my hands on it first.

Any thoughts?

My current texas rig rods are a GLX 893C and a Mossyback BCR853.  I like the sensitivity and extra fast action of both, but I am not crazy about the full grip of the Mossyback and the general ergonomics of the GLX.

Since you have a GLX to compare I will say the FMJ fishes to me a bit more powerful than a 854C JWR GLX and the Daemos fishes similar to a GLX 853.5 JWR (if it existed). So, the Daemos is a touch more powerful than a 3 power G Loomis but not quite as powerful as a 4 power. It should compliment your 893 and FMJ perfectly. I doubt you will be upset with the Daemos. ?

I'm actually selling the GLX 893.  I probably should have mentioned that!  I just don't like the length of it much.  In most scenarios, I'd rather have something a few inches shorter.  I'm torn on a shorter 3-power GLX/NRX or the Daemos.

All are great rods it just comes down to what you plan to plan to utilize the rod for. What size jigs or texas rigs do you plan to throw?

I have an FMJ and a GLX 783 and honeslty if the Daemos was ligher in power I would sell the GLX and buy it.  Don’t get me wrong, the GLX is a great rod but that FMJ is amazing.

I will continue to use the FMJ for almost all of my jigs.  I'm looking for a new rod to use for weightless senkos and texas rig 1/8oz + 6" worm or 1/4oz + 10" worm.  Nothing real heavy.

The Daemos is next on my list, and will be using it for the same as you light T rig applications. I have FMJ and love them sold all of my NRX and moving to the Destroyers

I have the FMJ and it does not compare to the GLX 842c. I find MB to work better with 1/2 to 5/8 baits. I usually had a weighted TRIG craw or 3/4 jig tied on

I don't think the FMJ is a good comparison to the 842. Different rods for different purposes.
