Garmin Quickdraw

Is it possible to insert a preloaded Lakeview HD chip and record a new map for an area not included in Lakeview through the quickdraw feature and have it store it onto the Lakeview Card?

I have the lakeview hd chip for my echomap 73sv but one of my local lakes isn’t mapped so i’d like to use quickdraw to map it but have it save it to the lakeview chip so I have it on there from now on.

I want to say yes.  I don't have a map card in mine, just a storage SD card but it saved a small lake I went to that wasn't mapped on the preloaded maps.

This is spooky.

I happened to be on the phone with Garmin when I came across this post, so I asked them.

From what they said, yes you can do this. However they said if you are doing this and run out of memory you will get an error message.

Thank you for asking them. The lake I want to map is only a small 200+ acre lake so hopefully there will be enough space for that.
