New Lew's Custom Lite Speed Stick (Spinning) ?

Featured Replies

  • Super User

Anybody held or used the new silver / grey color Lew's Custom Speed Lite HM85 spinning rods ? ... They have a few technique specific spinning rods (i.e. dock sniper , drop shot & shaky head) which look interesting and at an approx. $169 would put them in a category well below technique specific spinning rods from G. Loomis and St. Croix LTB series . *With HM85 blanks you would have to think they would be extremely  sensitive for finesse application and the Winn grips are a plus - your thoughts and experiences ?

Sorry for the late reply but I just joined. I have the Dock Sniper 6’11” medium, extra fast. Super light, sensitive, and very well balanced

with my Daiwa BG 2500. I also have a St Croix LTB 6’10” in medium, extra fast. The St Croix is hard to beat but for $100 less the Lews is a close second!

I have two of the lite shakey head rods. I use them for most of my fitness presentations ( shad raps, shakey head, finesse swimbaits, wacky rig, etc.) and I love them. Very light and very sensitive. I would definitely not hesitate to buy another one. An added bonus you can’t beat a lifetime warranty!
