Has anyone used or heard much on the new hummingbird fish finders ?? i think they are called "sidefinders" . the ads make it look very clear and lots of detail. thanks for any info in advance

The Humminbird side imaging units are the best fish and structure finding units made.

Absolutely awesome.  If I had the money for one, I would have one - or two.  But, for now, I only get to see them when on friends boats, or, more often, when they post pictures on a local lake message board.  Lotsa people on Lake Allatoona here in GA have one.  

I have a Humminbird 997si on the console and a Humminbird 797si on the TM.  The learning curve with these units is steep and long.  I have had mine for about a year and I have use them alot.  Still learning thing about them.

I can find structure in a few minute that would take hours with a downlooking unit.  For a structure fishman they are  great units.

If you are a bank beater I would not pay the price.  They would not do you that much good.
