battery question

Featured Replies

I bought an 1980 ranger bass boat.  I purchased a cranking battery for the 100 hp johnson and I had a dual purpose that I used for my trolling motor on my Jon boat.  Is it okay to run all my electronics off of the cranking battery. (lights, fishfinder, bilge ext.) Then run my TM off of the dual purpose.  Any info would be great.

Thanks,

Jenga

This is quite common but keep in mind that you are running these items off the starting battery and if it gets too low you may not be able to start.  I would monitor it with a volt meter for the first few trips so you get to know how long you can run on the starting battery without it getting too low.
