I have a 12' jon boat that I load in the back of a truck.  I thought something like this might make it less likley I would break something in the loading/unloading process.

Thought I could make a power panel so I could just plug in the sonar.

thanks

Way to much money.

Get a piece of 1x3 about 2 ft long. Attach transducer to one end and get a c clap I've seen then in the buck store.

Get to the lake c clamp board to transom and away you go.

I did this for years with a home boat and a cottage boat.

I bought one and love it. It is a snap to take on and off, and you don't even have to take it all the way off. You can simply shorten it so it is out of the way. If you rent another boat, or upgrade you simply move it over, not to mention it looks nice. It blends in totally with my transom.

If you don't want to permanently mount your transducer I say go for it.
