REVS610MLXF Review

Featured Replies

With the help from members on these forums and advice from the Batson Company I selected the REVS610MLXF blank for my last winter build. I made a casting rod with a spiral layout, nothing fancy just a functional rod. Loaded it with 10# braid and 90% of the time it had a 1/8 oz Texas rig with various types and weights of plastics. With that ¼ to ½ oz weight baits it casts perfect, tried casting a ¾+ oz bait and that made the rod real soft. I fish a lot of tall cabbage and had plenty of backbone for a good hook set. The sensitivity is great and when fishing the rod it feels really light and bites from weeds is easily read.

Bottom line is I built this rod for light texas rigs and plain finesse jigs and it preforms at or above what I hoped for!

Great forums and thank for your help!

Not surprised, Revelations are  great blanks that perform as if they were more expensive than they are.  I don't have that one but have built others, never disappointed.

Not surprised either, the Batson clan has a long history of making a blank of that design in RX7, RX8, and RX8+ that everyone loved, before the new lineups.

After fishing many other sticks from many sources, I'm covinced my RX8+ stick is about as good as it gets in that blank design.

Haven't been disappointed yet. Been building leadcore trolling rods for a bunch of local walleye guys with a couple of blanks and they've been doing awesome and cashing checks.
