I need information on the Daiwa Tatula 7'7" Medium crankbait rod.

 

Anyone with experience with this rod or experience with Daiwa's glass offerings?  I've never deep cranked in my life, but I'm continuously getting ready to give it a shot and if anyone could let me know if this rod would comfortably pull a 3/4oz crankbait rated at 16-22' of depth, that would be great.

I had the fiberglass and did not like it for cranks.

 

I have a 74 mh glass tatula elite and its a workout to throw deep cranks but its great for traps and chatterbaits.  I doubt the 77m would handle the 3/4oz cranks comfortably. 

I have the rod and would say cranks up to 22ft would overpower it. I throw mostly paddletails and medium cranks (DT10s, 5XDs) on it and it is great for that. Not as parabolic of a rod as one might expect for a crank rod, mind you, so keep that in mind.

Thanks for the opinions guys.  I think I'm gonna go with *** *** Crank in 7'9"!

Too light of a rod for the larger deep diving crank baits. most of the larger deeper divers 6XD and up or DD22 class. The weight is close to 1 oz or over and there isn't enough backbone in the rod to handle the load/resistance of cranking them back especially if you want to crank them fast.  Fine for mid-sized and small crank baits though.
