Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I'm new to the shotgun game.

Wondering if you guys can school me on the 12 gauge rounds.

What would these be best for, etc..

Rather be safe than sorry!

Thanks!

they look old. Personally I would buy new rounds in the shot size you need.

Just guessing here, but that combination was probably used for waterfowl, before non_lead shot was mandatory.

generally speaking this is how i would use the different shot size.

#71/2 is for small game like rabbit, squirrel, dove and quail.

#4 works for pheasant or turkey.

bb and #2 works for coyote.

forgot the 00 buckshot. basically the only thing I would use it for is home defense.

Is there any negatives to them being old?

I have some old shotgun shells that were made in cardboard or paper type shells. I have shot some of them at targets to get rid of them and they all fired fine without any problems. As long as the shells are stored in dry environment they should be fine.

The only negative to them being old is if they are lead and the new laws requiring non-lead shot for certain hunting purposes

these are awesome. id hold onto them and keep them somewhere dry instead of firing.
