Low profile reel vs round reel at different price range is comparing apples to oranges.

Shimano Tranx is a good choice.

    I use round reels because I like them for swimbaits and Shimano Cardiff 300 has the line capacity, drag system and gears that works good for swimbaits at a reasonable price point.

    A-Jay recently used a low profile Tranx during his Mexico trip and has high praise for it and considering he uses Calcullta D's his comparisons are meaningful.
