I have a Lews Tournament Pro G Speed Spool and I am trying to figure out how to setup it's dual breaks. How many of each break do you put on for what lure. Any help is appreciated.

On my dual break baitcasters I usually have 2 brakes on 2 brakes off. The 9 and 3 breaks I have on and the 12 and 6 off, if you look at the brakes like a clock. 

I usually run centrifugal breaks have on and may breaks a little under half way.  Spool tension knob fairly loose

What about the magnetic part, or dial? And also do you use that for everything or change it up for each and every lure? Thanks!

 

I start with the magnetic brakes on 7 and work down until I am comfortable with how well I can cast a lure without backlash.

 

I keep my internal brakes at 2 on, 2 off for mostly everything. I use my baitcasters for heavier baits generally around the same weight. If I was going lighter baits I would pick up my spinning gear

I used to run half of the internals on, the other half off. As far as the magnetic's, I had them on 5 to 7. I still set them like that at first of the "season". After I'm comfortable, I turn everything off.

Turn them down as low as possible. You'll probably have to fiddle a little if you drastically change weight of lures. It's best if you can train your thumb to handle it.

How heavy are you talking about?

Sorry I am kind of new to baitcasting and just trying to soak up all the information possible!

3 quarters of an ounce to an ounce which is heavy to me as I am a former finesse only guy.

I didn't think the Pro G was a dual brake reel, I was thinking it had the externally adjustable ACB system.

I just ordered one, should be here tomorrow. I was also of this assumption. 

Got mine in today... definitely not dual brakes like you’re thinking. The face plate comes off, and you can see the centrifugal brakes, but you adjust them with the magnetic brakes with the knob on the outside. 

If that is the case, start with 2 centrifugal brakes on and your magnetic set high and back down on the magnetic setting to find the sweet spot.  At least this worked for me when I had a reel like that.  Strangely, once I found the setting they stayed the same for every lure after that.

It has a 6-PIN inside centrifugal brake with an externally adjustable dial. Mine came in about 4 days ago and I am very happy with it so far.
