Information needed on Javelin Bass Boats

Featured Replies

Hi all.....

Anyone have any information on javelin bass boats? I know that they are no longer made, were made at the end of production by Stratos, and that you can get service and parts through Stratos. That's it.....

Anyone with information, especically if you own one, let me know what you think, good or bad.

Thanks,

ajr

Yep, got one. When OMC went belly-up and the boat companies were obtained (forgot who) the Javelin was called the Stratos/Javelin and was the entry level boat (package) line of Stratos. The hulls after 1991-92 were redesigned and turned out to be the fastest and best riding of the period. The same design hull was used in the 379 series starting in 1993 and was known in some circles as the "pocket rocket". The 389 series hull held the speed record in one catagory (don't remember which) for awhile.

Prior to the OMC death, Javelin and Hydrosport were made in the same factory in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

Thanks Wayne...

I am looking at a 1999 Javelin Renegade 198 with a 150 Johnson motor and tandem trailer. Here's a blip from the dealer:

USED 1999 JAVELIN RENEGADE VERY CLEAN IN AND OUT. TANDEM AXLE TRAILER WITH BRAKES. CUSTOM COVER WITH OUTBOARD COVER. BOAT COMES WITH 2 FISHING CHAIRS AND BIKE SEAT WITH PEDASTAL SEAT, MIDDLE SEAT NOT INSTALLED BUT DOES COME WITH THE BOAT AND ALSO HAS AN EXTRA SET OF SEAT SKINS FOR THE DRIVERS SEAT.

Any information on the 198 anyone???

I'm not familiar with that model, but judging by the tandem trailer and guessing by the model number, it is almost 20' in length, it is under powered.
