I am planning on buying a bow mount trolling motor for my 14" v hull. the trolling motor i am looking at has a plug on the end,  i want to connect it straight to a battery. there are three wires can i just cut the plug odd and connect directly to the battery? any input would be great

what make and model are you getting? is it a straight 12 volt unit?

You sure can. I have my TM hardwired.  No connectors.

I have a different proble, my TM has two wires, pos ang neg that connect to the battery, I want my TM on the bow and battery in the stern. is there some type of conection i can rig. would like to just plug it in and go.

any wire that matches or exceeds the factory wiring can be routed from thefront to the back.

yes. i have used with great success a heavy extension cord and what i did was buy the cord and another cord end. if i bought another end like whats in link #1 i would wire that onto the trolling motor, leaving the female end still on the extension core. route the cord back to battery and cut off the un-needed male end and strip the cord back to be able to connect the wired to the battery. then all you have to do is plug in the trolling motor and go.

p.s. i like to wire female ends into the trolling motor so a mistake isnt made and the trolling motor doent meet 110 volt wall outlet.

My local wal-mart sells the wire ends (and the outlet if you wanted to make it plug to an outlet) so you can put the wire from back to front then just plug in your tm when you are fishing.
