Native mariner kayak 12.5

Featured Replies

Have the opportunity to buy this for $1,000. The problem is, is it's a 2014 model and I'm concerned about the age. Anyone have this kayak and shed some light on how they hold up?

If stored out of the sun and not abused yaks last a long time. I recently sold my 1999 yak and it was still had years of service left in it.

Age of a kayak is not really an issue so much as, as @kjfishman said, it has

not been stored in the sun or abused.

I'm still using a 2008 Native Ultimate 12 and it works great.

That said, what does the Mariner have in the package? Is it a Propel model?

Does it come with paddle, PFD, etc.?

Yes it is a propel model. Doesn't look like it comes with anything but the kayak and pedal drive system. Says fish finder but it appears outdated and no mention of a battery.

Occasionally the Pescador pilots go up for around $1,000 and I'm wondering if that is a better option.
