  1. Missed out on the Garmin UHD because I'm lazy and they are sold out. I figure I could get a similar deal in March, but are there any other major sales I should be looking out for where I might be able to get a deal like that on electronics?
  2. Interesting. I've seen people say you van get fuego for $60, but I've can only find it for $100. Do tbey go on sale often?
  3. 13 Fishing Fate Black ORIGIN Baitcasting Comb Daiwa Tatula CT with MH Diawa AIRDX ROD
  4. The beauty of a kayak tournament is that it's catch, photo, release. There is no need for weigh in or large gatherings. Really not sure why you commented.
  5. Would you stay shallow? Lake is mostlystandi g timber and brush. Appreciate the response.
  6. I'll be fishing a 550 acre lake in north central oklahoma. (Lone Chimney Lake) Were expected to get a cold front with some rain on friday and the tempature is going to drop from a high of 71 today down to high of 49 on friday. Saturday(tournament day) its supposed to be in mid 50s but the tempature at stsrt time will be 40 degrees. My plan was to fish shallow and find some spawning fish with a jig, swim jig, and senko. How should I alter my approach with the cold front moving in? Thank you
  7. Should have looked a little closer. Thank you.
  8. Anyone know when they will release the flyer for the Bass Pro Classic?
  9. I'm looking to upgrade my fishfinder on my Kayak and stumbled upon this. https://www.lowrance.com/lowrance/type/reconditioned/rfb-hook2-7-tripleshot-us-inland/ seems like a good deal for what it offers. Is it as good as it looks or can anyone provide some suggestions for finders cheaper than this. thank you!
  10. Awesome responses guys. Considered 6th sense subscription box but honestly they have so many baits I'm afraid I woukd get confused. I have a quality selection of lipless as they are probably my favorite lure
  11. I've been avoiding getting into the crankbait game for awhile but my next baitmonkey purchase is going to be a lot of crankbaits. Ideally I have around $75 to spend. If you were beginning to build a box of crankbaits for Oklahoma what you start with? Predominately kayak fishing from March through September.
  12. I've never been more tempted to buy a side scan fish finder !
  13. You're never going to eliminate the wind. I will say a quality kayak and an anchor trolley makes it significantly more manageable. If you are serious about it, a pedal drive makes it even easier.
  14. It's time to start prepping for a tournament on Konawa on April 20th. Anyone have some tips for that lake? Never been and will only have 1 day of prefish. Tight lines -
  15. For the last five days the temperatures in my area (Western Oklahoma) have ranged from 65-77 degrees. Tomorrow, when I planned on fishing, the high is going to be 56. I planned on leaving work at noon and hitting the lake, but the 15+ degree temperature drop has me worried. Do you feel like this drop will hurt the fishing? The last two times I’ve been to this lake I’ve got a fish over 5lbs in the flat outside a creek channel. Appreciate any advice!
  16. Earlier this year I purchased some sierbert spinnerbaits based on some of the reviews I have seen on this form amd so far they are workong out very well. Yesterday a rough day of fishing was salvaged by a black and blue double colorado spinnerbait.. She was 4 lbs 15oz and absolutely smashed it.
  17. Be careful rigging in the house as well. Last week I was tying on a Z-man Jackhammer I and next thing I know I have a sharp arse hook in my hand and my kitten is dragging my rod, and me, around the house. Luckily(or unluckily) the hook ended up in me and not her. Would have been a lot worse buy my kids thought it was the funniest thing in the world. Hard to be angry with two toddlers cracking up on the couch.
  18. Should be pre-spawn ( finger crossed. We'll see what the water temps are when we get there) Looks to have a significant amount of standing timber. That and normal points and drop offs, points will be what we focus on. first time in this lake, but around here with a lake this size I'd expect bluegill for sure and maybe some shad.
  19. Taking the kayak out for the first time all year today. I'm in Oklahoma and we are on the back end of a three-day warming trend. It's going to hit the low 60's here today and we're going to be fishing a small lake. For the first time in forever the wind is going to be under 10 mph and that means I'm changing the spinnerbait for a Texas rig. I don't have a ton of experience with the rig and was hoping to get some opinions on what you would throw in this situation. If you were fishing a small lake today and the weather was in the low 60's what plastic would you throw on your texas rig? http://fishing-app.gpsnauticalcharts.com/i-boating-fishing-web-app/fishing-marine-charts-navigation.html?title=Lake+Lloyd+Vincent+boating+app#15.1/36.0590/-99.9231 i-Boating _ Free Marine Navigation Charts & Fishing Maps.html
  20. For those looking for a good baitcast reel the Lews Mach I for under $75 is an amazing reel for a relatively low price They are not a tatula or curados but they are a significant step up from the black max or silver max that's often pushed as an entry level reel. I am by no means an expert, FAR FROM IT, but LEWS are quality reels.

  22. I've upgraded to my third Kayak this year. For a paddle kayak that is relatively inexpensive I would look at a pescador pro, pelican catch 120, or the new Jackson Bite. I'm by no mean an expert but the pro and the catch have done very well for me. I bit the bullet and got a pedal kayak for this season and so far it's been amazing. I'm from Oklahoma and the wind can make paddling unbearable sometimes. I would not completely discount a used pedal kayak as my brother got a pescador pilot for $1100 on Facebook. No matter what you do, you're sure to enjoy it as it opens up so much water. Good luck!
  23. That looks pretty sweet. Next year's fishing classic I'll try and upgrade to a SI unit. Choosing law enforcement for a career doesn't equal alot of extra money lol I fought the urge to do that all day yesterday.
  24. I can see how that was confusing. Fixed it. I was all set until I saw this one.
  25. I've yet to pull the trigger on a depth finder. Could someone compare this to the garmin. I was decided on. It appears that it has the same features as the one I was looking at or is something different. Looks like the same thing but with maps but that seems to good to be true at only $10 more Lowrance Hook-4 Mid/High/Downscan Fishfinder/Chartplotter with Insight Pro https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/lowrance-hook-4-mid-high-downscan-fishfinder-chartplotter-with-insight-pro#repChildCatid=3841324
