I don't know about in MN, where the original poster is from, but here in Maryland you need to do this:

Just for fun, try the practice test right off the bat.  You may be surprised at what you DON'T know!

Congratulations.

May I suggest making a photocopy of your safe boating license or certificate or card for future reference and keep a copy on your boat at all times?

It can come in handy when your friends from Game and Fisheries stop by and ask you some questions.

The safe boating card seems to make them friendlier!

Thanks guys. After I looked at the monitor and it said "You Passed!" I just about fell on the floor. I was so confident at the beginning until I started taking it. And tomarrow is opener. I wake up at 3:30am and head out the the horseshoe chain of lakes, for an all dayer. And my dad said I can drive for the whole day If I got my permit, AND I DID!! Wooooooooooo!!!!! :)

Yep, its the same. It said somewhere on the MN DNR page that boated is in like 48 states.

It was an extremely hard test.

Mine wasnt too hard.  Its like a 6 hour class with a 50 question test.  Past with 45 out of 50, not to bad.  Good job Daiwa

Congratulations. Just remember to practice safety anytime you are on the water and you will have many years of fun boating.

Is this for under 18 year olds or something? In IL I don't think we have anything like this.

Daiwa, I just went and took the test.  I'm 41 and I think you would be a better skipper on my boat.  I need to sharpen up alittle.
