  1. Gulp 7" and 4" green pumpkin turtleback works. The tail on them is awsome. On any hook, and a slow jerk, pause retreive, you are sure to catch fish.
  2. Cool, thanks guys, I use all your tips last week (the whole week, i was on vacation) and cought over 15-20 bass, all over 14"!! I also caught like 10-15 under 14". Thanks a ton guys!! "Otherwise, throw on a huge weighted treble and snag those mofo's" hahaha, thats a good one.
  3. Thanks a million guys. If they see me, can I troll the boat away, and cast to them?
  4. Almost everytime I go fishing, I see bass in 2-4 feet off water chasing down panfish/small fish. I have pretty much thrown my whole tacklebox at them, and cant seem to get them to go after anything. Any tips??
  5. Thanks guys, I am reading about it now. At the Resort we are staying at, there are huge crappies and panfish, and come 17-20 inch bass roaming the shallows about 1-5 feet from the dock. I want to try the bubble, but im also bringing my fly rod with, because my dad Oked me taking the boat out by myself. I am still a little confuzed about the bubble. Will I beable to find one at Gander Mountain? Thanks alot guys! Josh.
  6. Sorry about this question guys but i need to know. Last year I spend alot of money on fly fishing stuff. I still have m rod, and one day I want to get it set back up. But I want to keep away from it on my vacation (i might bring it, dont know yet) I just wanted to know if I could take my flys, and throw them with a regular rod and reel, for about 3-5 feet range, off a dock, from crappies and panfish? Would this work, or be a dumb idea?
  7. The only freshwater fish I want to catch at this moment would be a Muskie. I have fished for 2 years for them and havent gotten one yet. My goal is to get one (I dont care what size) in the boat this year. Ive already had 2 follows, on about 35-37" and a monster 50"+ follow my lures. The 50 incher was before opener (I was using a small buzzbait, followed it up to the boat) so I didnt feel like figure 8ing to catch him. Its not as fun to catch big fish when their season hasnt started yet. It was pretty cool though. Followed it right to the boat, turned 90 degress and ran parallel to the boat. It was one of those "Woah" moments, where you crap your pants, and are shaking like crazy. All I want to say is I hope all of you who want to catch a northern pike, catch one this year. Once you get one, your hooked for good. No pun intended ;D Heres a little tip I learned from Pike fishing (my prefered fish): Take any lure you want to use (anything, besides a spoon. It can be a hard plastic, spinner. It can be a top water, but thats harder to do)Then take your back hook off, so you just have a eye (for spinner baits youll have to get creative) and attach a liter to it. Then take a spoon and attach it to the other end of your liter. Cast, and watch the pike attack it. Heres how it works: When the pike sees the spoon "following" the front lure, it thinks it chasing it down, for food. Pike are really competitive, and they try to beat the spoon to it. They work great.
  8. I am thinking that we should start over. Its confuzing right now. We could include fish from '08. Or should we keep what we got?
  9. Woah guys, we never finished this. Tonight, lets get everybody else going. I am plenty of bass pictures from earlier. Sorry guys, fishing season ended and I am focusing on soccer and rc planes. But I will try to keep looking here. Anybody else want to go for a state? Or anybody who already is and doesnt want to?
  10. I had a cabelas fish eagle tournament 2. It was a good real, had good casts. Then I got into Abu Garcia and shakspear (dimension) and it casts so nice, that I wont ever go back. My Shakespear Dimension has 10 ball bearings, and my Abu Garci Black Max has like 5.
  11. I use light lures for spinning and heavy for casting.
  12. Anyone have an idea on what this ones weight is?
  13. The big lake is crouded, but the small one isnt. Thats where I caught it.
  14. Shakespeare Dimension with 14lb test (I think, maybe its 12) on a Tournie Trail Cabelas rod. Med/heavy.

I think you can get them at Gander Mountain or Sportsmans Warehouse. I cant remember. Next time I am at one, I'll check for you guys. I caught my 32 1/2" Pike (sorry I keep mentioning it, but I am really proud of myself) on firetiger, the longer ones.
  16. Thanks. I love when I can see them strike. Gets your heart going. I also like it when they make that "u" shape when they strike.
  17. I think thats up to the fish
  18. Here is my 32 1/2" Northern Pike caught today on Coon Lake. Using a Bass-Oreno. It was the first fish caught on a baitcaster for me!

If you have not tried this lure, I would recomend you do! This lure is great for almost ALL species of fish, Today I caught a 32 1/2" Pike and have caught some bass on them, smallest being a 10". They are heavy, so there are long casts, but dont take much to reel in. Its a really nice lure.
  20. Dont you just love when that happens. Out fished my family today too. Only thing that was caught was some little panfish and a 14" Largemouth bass (my dad) and my bro and uncle caught only panfish. I caught some panfish and so did my dad. I on the other hand, reeled in a 32 1/2" Northern Pike.
  21. I like the one above the bottom picture, on the right ;D
  22. Thanks, I had a blast. Ive been on that river like 4 times and have never caught a thing. The 14 incher jumped completly out of the water. Ill get some pics.
  23. Well, I finaly caught my first smallie yesterday on the river. The first was a 8" Smallie, the second was a 14" then another 8" and a 15" and then some 12" smallies.
  24. Thats a good price thought. Is it worth passing up? Our 2003 Pro 16v Tracker with a 50hp 4 stroke is like $10,000. Would you beable to find someplace on a lake (like a friend, or family member) to leave tied to a dock?
  25. I love swimbaits. Whats kind did he use?
