Been wanting to try a glass rod forever, and been a fan of St Croix’s mojo casting rods for a while.

 

My friend and I are going to the Classic this weekend, and St Croix happened to remake their Mojo Glass line with 4 new offerings with their IPC technology and new guides plus redesigned reel seats.

 

6’10” Medium-Moderate designated as their (Target Cranker)

7’2” Heavy-Moderate designated as their “Rip-N-Chatter”

7’2” Medium-Moderate designated as their (Cranker)

7’4” Medium Heavy-Moderate designated as their “Big Cranker”

 

I fish a lot of smaller 1.5 size square bills, DT06 & DT10 Cranker baits, 1/2oz chatterbaits, 3/8oz & 1/2oz lipless baits.

 

im thinking the 7’2” Heavy for chatterbaits and lipless, and the 7’2” Medium for everything else??

 

what do you guys think?

 

I use a MH/MF Daiwa Tatula glass rod for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits and cranks (although I got the M/MF for this year). It's great! However that rod has a bit more tip than the St. Croix glass rods as they do not underestimate their tips on their glass rods from my experience. Now some people prefer a moderate tip for chatterbaits, but I would personally prefer a little more tip myself.

The medium moderate should be a general all around cranking rod and should be decent for deep divers with braid as well.

 

Looks like somebody is having a good cranking season

I have a Mojo Glass Crank Rod I bought 3 or 4 years.  The only rod I've ever purchased without holding one first.  Hate it.  Nothing about that rod fits my style of fishing and I do not enjoy using it in any way.  It is NOT a rod issue.  It's just a compatibility issue and one I learned a very valuable lesson from.

If the 6’10” medium is anything like the legend glass version it will be fantastic.
