Garmin EchoMap 93SV Chirp
No. You cannot. You can link weighpoints via the Nmea 1083 but you cannot share image data.

lowarance elite 9 or hds gen 9
An HDS with the extra sonar module produces way better images than an Elite. Hands down better, and it is much more responsive. And if you are considering an HDS Carbon the screen quality and touch is more reactive. But then again, there is a huge price difference. If you don't mind paying more, or want a unit that will be comparable to the best for a number of years, get the HDS. If you can, go look at them instore. Demo images are almost always a tad better than what most people get, but even on the demo images the difference is clear. An Elite isn't a bad unit. My buddy I go fish with every other week has one and I like using it. I personally went with a Garmin since it was cheaper and I liked the traditional sonar, but would be happy with an elite. You can't go wrong on your decision here, but you can spend a ton of money. I'll also throw a recommendation on the new Humminbird Solix 10. It has the best down and side imaging available. But I've never found the traditional sonar to be that great.

Have rods reached a plateau in technology for quite some time?
$500? Holy cow. I could understand the cost of the reel +$50 or something like that.

How does that process work with them?

Aluminum boat care
Don't use Simple Green. It can react with aluminum if left on. I use it to scrub my carpets and then rise it right off. They do make an 'aircraft' version that is meant for aluminum. But yeah, best advice is don't be careless. After an 8 hour day in 95 degree summer sun it can be easy to forgo washing the hull, but just take the time and spray it down. Star Brite makes a hull cleaner I get at the Wal*Marts that works pretty well.

Garmin 93sv, Lowrance 9 TI total scan
Okay here are some screenshots that I like. They aren't the best that have come up on the unit but are pretty solid. Also remember the detail of these on a 9" screen looks better than blown up on a 15" monitor. Edit: Hold on, it won't let me upload them. Anyone have a favorite image sharer for here? Is Imgur allowed? Edit Again: Check this album for some decent shots. https://imgur.com/a/R8d1U

St Croix came out with a bunch of new Avid models, a 2 piece mojo, new legend class models, the new tournament bass, and the new legend x line but haven't updated their website yet. Check Tackle Warehouse. They have them all listed.

Skipping Jigs- backlash
People keep telling me that but whenever I fill a spool I see no difference other than more backlashes. It's a personal preference, there are some downsides, and I know that many guys don't like to do it. It just works for me. To each his own. But yeah, Swindle is a d**n monster at skipping jigs. I thought I was good but watching that video was really humbling.

Skipping Jigs- backlash
I do the opposite of these guys. Tension knob almost falling off, centrifugal brakes on high and magnetic on medium. It takes almost no effort to cast but the breaks slow down the bait, especially after the first two skips, so I don't have to be careful about backlashes. Also, I only fill up my spool about halfway (Lew tournament MB normally). That might help with skipping, but I just normally do it. I don't like messing with backing and never use the bottom half of my line on the spool. Always ends up being torn out so why put it on.

With St Croixs new Legend X having every piece of tech they make maybe they'll take two or so years and come up with something new. The new thing is the X wrapping that Shimano makes such a huge deal about, despite Abu having the same tech on rods that cost half as much. Also, I did like the swooping guide train on the Avid Xs that is relatively new. Makes a lot of sense and seems to produce better casting.

Best line conditioner??
KVD works awesome. I've used it on Seaguar Red Label/Invizx and Berkley 100%. I felt that it had more of an impact on the Berkley but overall I can't believe people don't use it. Easy way to save lots of money on line.

braided line power pro or spiderwire..........

Favorite fluorocarbon?
Invizx felt great to me but I was sort of disappointed. Felt weaker than red label and seemed to backlash more. But since it is thinner than red label you can size up the line with no diameter change. I love it for cranking and spinnerbaits but not for flipping or jigs, which I throw most. I really liked the Berkley 100%. I get to fish 5-6 times a week and I had to change the red label once a week and the invizx lasted longer but still died pretty quick. I got the berkley and put on some KVD line condition and had line last a month and a half on my most used rods.

St. Croix Mojo bass vs glass for cranking and all around
I wouldn't get the glass rod. get the 7MHMF. the glass rod doesn't have enough backbone for a heavy chatterbait or spinnerbait hookset and would feel overpowered on the cast with a decent trailer on. Also, I love my Mojos but I use a 7'1M 13 *** black and 7'3MH *** black for spinners and chatterbaits. They aren't nearly as sensitive or light as my mojos, but they are total workhorse rods and are well built. They are the kind of rod I'll have for 5-6 years and never have to worry about.

Garmin 93sv, Lowrance 9 TI total scan
I have screenshots I can pull off my other computer in the next few days from my echomap. But I'll say two things: 1) Mega Imaging or a paper graph doesn't matter if your looking in the wrong place altogether. If you have a decent idea of what cover fish are holding on, MEGA is the best but the SI on the Garmin is enough to find what you need 2) The traditional sonar on the Garmin is my favorite part by far. It was ok on my old lowrance so I didn't use it too much, but now that I have real solid traditional on the Garmin I probably use that more than the SI. Edit: Adding two more points. 3) Improper install, wiring, and set up and great way to make a unit disappointing. 4) Lets at least agree that the 'bird and the Garmin are both better than the Lowrance Elites. Their SI can't read past 30ft. I have shots of my Garmin reading 150ft off each side.

Hi-Vis braid
I've been using the 832 in ghost for a while and love it. It's been on my spinning rod since March and has barely faded even after using it in dirty water. I got the 15lb from TW and it hasn't broken or frayed at all.

The 'bird is an awesome unit, but for anyone reading this considering an Echomap they can produce better images than what was posted above.

Garmin Plus vs Chirp
For $1000? the 9" echomap Plus 93sv. The Plus unit has *all the same features* as the Chirp units, plus a touch screen, Wifi, and works with the new Garmin app.

Best value Side imaging unit with bottom contour ability.
Garmin 73sv or 93sv. For 6 hours on Black Friday that 9" will be on sale for $599. I paid $800 for mine a month ago and thought that was a steal. Great unit and a much better transducer than the Lowrance Elite Tis.
