  1. Honestly, I would get a sidevu garmin and put the transducer on the trolling motor. I've had no problem with the cable. Garmin has an auto speed for their charts that work amazing at low speeds. When I'm just fishing around on the trolling motor the sidevu, sonar and clearvu come up just fine whether I'm sitting still or moving.
  2. I wonder if you can replay recorded sonar/SI on it to mark way points? That would be a huge plus for me.
  3. Depth Shading is in the Quickdraw settings menu.
  4. Go back to the Nav Chart instead of the Fishing Chart
  5. There are still a lot of the pre-Chirp echomaps around. I wouldn't be surprised if you can find a chirp 93 or two in the spring. I would get another Chirp model for my console but the touchscreen would make marking structure so much easier. My lake has been getting a lot more pressure over the past two years, so being able to scan and mark a bunch of spots with a few touches of the finger would come in handy.
  6. Yep, I just hooked up my new 93sv on Sunday. Maybe I'll pick up the new Plus for the console and move that one up front. As long as the new Echomap Plus units and Echomap Chirps can be networked, which I would assume is possible. Only issue with that is Garmin mentioned the new units have sonar sharing across units. If that requires a different connection than the User Data cable, maybe the new and old ones can't be networked. Either way, I love my Garmin so far. Blows my buddies Elite 9TI out of the water when it comes to imaging and the quick draw is incredible. Much better than the insight genesis map I was using on my old Lowrance Hook 7.
  7. Well on most cheaper rods when you have something on them you can see a point on the rod that is flexing more than the rest of the rod. this is the transition point between the tip and backbone. A rod that has a long transition point loads up really well when fishing resistance baits and once you get a bite its easy to use the backbone for a sweeping hookset. Edit: It is somewhat like a moderate action on the rod but with more backbone to it. Anyways, those *** Black 2s are great for resistance baits
  8. They aren't sensitive or particularly light, but I love throwing those type of baits on my *** *** black 2s. They have a really long transition point from tip to backbone that make them great for spinner and chatterbaits. Also, they guides on them are solid and haven't bent despite my rough treatment. I have a 7'1M and 7'3MH and both work just fine.
