Ok yall I've finally decided I'm going to get a couple of Dobyns Colt series rods. Im getting two of them and will be used for an "all around" rod besides deep cranking and heavy cover. So should I go with the 704c or the 734c for an "all around".

I went with the 734C Sierra for a dedicated spinnerbait, buzzbait rod. I haven't been able to fish it yet but have thrown a practice plug around the yard and it feels awesome. I fish from a kayak most of the time and was a little hesitant about getting the longer 734 but the recommendations and reviews from this forum pushed me to go with the 734.

734 if length isn't an issue. 704 if it is an issue. 

Oh, and if you can swing the extra $ I'd go with the Fury over the Colt. Much better rod at not much of a higher price. Just eat some PB&J for lunch for a couple weeks. ?

I agree with @TBAG, definetly try and step up to the Furies.

kind of in a situation the wife said don't spend over $200 so I pushed her up to $220 because I wanted to get the Dobyns colt and Lews Tournament MB which would have been $220 with that being said I could always get the Lews LFS and the Dobyns Fury for $220 what would yall do?

The Tournament MB is good reel. You can find them on the big auction site for about $110.

Not a fan of Lews myself so I can't help there, but if at all possible I'd step up to the Fury rod over the Colt.

Dude get the fury and the MB.  MB is usually 99 bucks on Ebay with free shipping.  American Legacy is an excellent seller.  They have 10% coupon on their site also. Order today and you may have it Saturday.  I'd call and see if they could ship today

 

734 vs 704, meh not a huge difference but I'd go 734.

Either rod is cool for an all around rod. I would go up to the Fury line though. They are very nice for the small amount of $ more that they cost.

Get a Fury at 120 and then get a Daiwa Fuego off Amazon for 70-80 bucks.
