what are you guys using for (bass raider) type boats?

Featured Replies

I'm purchasing one of these boats Pelican 10E and do you guys use foot controlled trolling motors or stick controlled.

I was also wondering if anybody puts a little deck on these boats (easier to flip out of.)

Foot control is almost impossible in these boats. I use a 34lbs C2 Min-Kota and it's as good as it gets. The handle extends and it has a reverse. Don't waste your money or your patience trying to use a foot control on a Bass Raider, GO to Cabelas get a C2 for 119 bucks and slay some bass!

I agree. Same applies to a canoe or sit on top kayak.

I used a 40# hand controlled motor for mine. I also had a deck on it but I tested it out I really didn't trust my banknote enough to not fall overboard. But I could stand just fine without it.

I have a 12v 30lb hand control Minn Kota. It moved it around really good. I put it on the front and pull the boat, rather than trying to push it. I have not used it in 2 years or so, I hope the next time I do I haven't been so spoiled by the 70lb thrust motor on my aluminum boat that I feel the need to upgrade LOL.

I have a BassTender 11.3 which is very similar to the Pelican, and I have a hand controlled up front, but I am thinking about getting a big foot switch to power on and off for short bursts. Someone posted this link yesterday and I am thinking this is a great tool for a small lightweight boa to keep you on target without having to grab the handle

I have a hand control in the front but just ordered the motor guide bulldog 40 foot control for mine.It is the only foot control that I could find that would clamp on the front.
