I recently bought a daiwa bg 3000 for light saltwater fishing and having some issues with loading the extra spool washers to adjust line lay. With my Shimanos I just added the washers directly to the shaft and put the spool back on, not the case with the daiwa. If I put the washer on directly below the spool the spool does not sit properly. I know Daiwas are designed to have a reverse taper line lay (line loaded more towards top of spool) but it seems a bit excessive

I can't help you as I did not have any issues with the line lay on mine. That said, I am surprised that you are having issues.

I figured it out when you take the spool off you are supposed to  add the clear/white washer given in the pack right above the red one
