How many rods is too many?

But for what it costs to ship a rod, it’s not really worth selling some of them.

I have had a surprising amount of luck lately selling rods locally.  High end fishing equipment is a niche market, so selling locally might be harder the more expensive your gear is.  But for off loading entry level rods, its been good to me.  I also have noticed more success on facebook marketplace than craigslist.

Recently selling reels, I had better luck on ebay than on the forums here.  Turns out the bass fishing community has some real cheap skates ?

I call it my rod quiver.   Based on the shape you choose, you can hold as many rods as you need.  I chose a triangle and it's hard to believe my first one is over 10 years old! I built anoth

Selling high-end gear isn’t a problem as the shipping price eats up a smaller percentage of the money I’m trying to get back, but trying to sell a rod that retails for $120 it’s kind of pointless as even if I can get 75% of MSRP, I’m going to lose a huge percentage of my selling price for shipping, so it’s not really worth it.

The area I live in is so salt water focused that I have had very little luck selling cheaper rods locally.

If it isn't at least 45% off, not many will buy it on many fishing sites.  I like the ones that are 50% off.  :rofl_red:

How many do you actually bring on any given trip?

5 to 7 with my rod mule :)

I probably have around 80 combos. Maybe more.

But I fish for everything, from small trout streams to saltwater.

Usually on my bass tracker, I'll usually have 10 to 12 baitcasters and 2 spinning. I switch them out depending on what I'm throwing and time of year.

On my starcraft, I have ten rod holders. Each rod holder gets a rod depending on what I'm fishing for. Crappie and small fish get ultralights. Catfish and stripers get baitrunner combos. Plus extras combos to throw lures incase they start chasing baitfish.

My wife says my shed looks like a tackle shop.
