Zodias 72M

Featured Replies

Does anyone have experience with the zodias 72m casting?  It would be used as a longer senko/fluke/light t-rig/finesse jig rod.

For the senko and fluke, should be fine.  However depending on what light weight it is to you and what you are tying on the hook.  In my opinion, while I love the rod line.  The Zodias rods tend to be a higher power than their rated at.  I'd more go by the lure weight range, stay roughly around the middle.  It is usually the sweet spot.

I know its not the 72, but I have the 6'10" and it's an incredible rod. For your applications, which are ones I use also, it'll work great. I don't think you'll regret it.

how do you find the balance of the rods?

It is good for those applications.  It can launch 1/2 oz lipless cranks very well too.  I use mine for 1/4 oz Chatterbaits, weightless Senkos, 1/2 oz lipless cranks in grass and some finesse jigs.  It is a little tip heavy and balances out with a 7 oz reel.

I might pair it with a new scorpion MGL.

I have one and love it. It’s heavier than a normal medium but not quite a medium heavy. Very sensitive, great for bottom contact presentations. I think it would work well for what you’re looking at it for as long as you don’t go too light.
