  1. There is a local kayak shop that has the motor. I am going to ask them how much additional it would be to do an install.
  2. one problem I am seeing is the installation looks super complicated. Can’t I just hook it up to the battery once it’s mounted and be done?
  3. Yea I might just get the terrova. It seems pretty sweet based on what I’ve been seeing today. I wouldn’t want to cut a shaft especially since some are composite. It would also probably void the warranty as well. I’ve never had anything more than a $150 basic minn kits so I was t aware of what motors in general seem to cost. i saw that but it doesn’t seem to be available yet. It does look sweet though!
  4. Thanks. If fully kitted out it looks like this-it does look like the bow mount on this picture is a motor guide to me. I will have to check marketplace to see if I can find a deal. The problem like you said is shaft lengths on many are 55 or 70 inch.
  5. I am looking for a spot lock bow trolling motor for my inflatable SUP to help with wind/current. So far the cheapest option I am finding new is a minn kota powerdrive, but refurbished ones seem to go for only about 200 less for 1000-1100. Are there cheaper ways to get a spot lock motor bow motor for a kayak, and if so how/where?
  6. I want to try this F1.5 BFS model
  7. I am looking into getting a Sierra BFS as my first BFS rod. Can anyone comment on the differences between the 701, 700, and 740? I will be using it for just ned rig-I know the 0 power have a solid carbon tip whereas the 1 power is a normal tubular blank.
  8. current orochi line was released in 2018 think these are the refresh
  9. The other rod I want to consider is the 72M arena-but I haven't been able to find it on a JDM site.
  10. 299 shipped I am torn between this one and a P5 dark sleeper. This looks way cooler, but the dark sleeper may be a more versatile rod.
  11. I was thinking about the bandersnatch
  12. These have been out awhile but still haven't heard much about them. Does anyone have experience with them? They seem a little cheaper than a JDM destroyer. Some of the coolest looking rods I've ever seen for sure. https://jdmtackleheaven.com/products/megabass-orochi-x10-f5-70xt-bandersnatch
  13. I think the 76Medium model looks really interesting.
  14. seems like people think it is priced out of it's own league
  15. Has anyone used the new 13 Muse Black II rods? They look pretty cool to me when matched with the new concept C which feels really good in hand. Seems to be going for about 220-250. depending on the model.
  16. What about on an SV reel with a larger spool? Was thinking about the new steez
  17. Can you throw Neds on the clx 842 with the right reel?
  18. Do you know anything about the NRX MBR version?
  19. I have played with the CNQ 842 in the store and would love to own it, but unfortunately those prices have just gotten too steep. IMX-pro 842 also has a great action but I don' think the build quality matches the price. GLX would be a compromise but I haven't been able to get my hands on one in a store yet. I very seriously considered the GLX before, but some people on tackle tour thought the reel seat was weird so I hesitated a bit. I really like the 842 action though so maybe I should consider it more-I guess there is n nix 842 now too?
  20. How about for like small spinnerbaits? What reel did you try?
  21. Do you know how it compares to like a Dobyns 703? I was hoping for something like that action but higher-end overall. Enough flex for some trebles but can throw a senko as well. It sounds like it would be pretty well suited for what I want. How do you compare it to the 611-F4.5 MB jerk bait rods? I had that model before but it was too stiff for trebles to me, but for guys used to higher end stuff maybe it was soft enough for them. It was a good Senko rod. What reel did you try on it?
  22. I'm looking for an all around medium rod for a variety of techniques, primarily like a senko, small plastics, small keitech, some poppers, etc. I would like a rod that has similar action to a Robyn's 703 but higher end. Will the ZCE be a good all around medium choice? I know people say it's a treble hook rod, but in my experience Mb "treble hook rods" are too stiff for those applications (at least to me) For reel I will probably go Met or the new steez
  23. I have 2 of the expride glass Rods which I really like. I haven't tried the equivalent rods in the other Shimano lines, but I've handled the equivalent curado models, and they seem a little slower, which is arguably better for cranks, but it depends on personal preference. My expride 72MHG definitely feels heavier in hand than the equivalent graphite version of the same length. You could use a fury 703 for smaller cranks like square bills/dt6. I've never had any issues with ripping trebles even though it isn't technically designed for cranks. Also, the defy Black cranking series is super nice for the price. I got the 7'9" for $55 on Amazon and it's very well built and light. As far as weight goes, glass will always be heavier/more unbalanced when compared to graphite, but it gives more to absorb the shock of the strike/fight the fish. The St. Croix's I've had weren't particularly balanced so I'd imagine a st. Croix glass rod could be pretty cumbersome.
  24. Does anyone have experience with this zodias casting model? Was wondering how it would be for all-around use including small swimsuits, Texas rigs, etc. I'm guessing it is sort of a M-MH which loads pretty deep into the blank but looking for others opinions.
