I took out the bearing on my Tatula HD 200HS to clean it. I put everything back together in the right order. Now, I cannot get the reel to reel without grinding, and it has an extremely difficult time engaging the clutch. The reel is smooth when the screws are out but the clutch doesn't function and the lure won't drop even with the loosest spool tension. I noticed one screw of the three is longer than the others. What am I doing wrong. Here is a pic of the side where the screws go in. Am I putting the screws in wrong or is something else the matter?

Here is a screenshot of the sideplate schematic. If this is the correct image it looks like the two screws (part 49) that are the same go up top and the long one (part 50) would go under the handle assembly. Hope this helps.

 

 

 

 

Maybe reassembled with the long screw next to the clutch bar. Look from the other side of the reel - all three screw holes go through the chassis. Look for interference with the clutch.

(From looking at my reel, the long screw goes in the front of the side plate. The two short screws go in the top of the side plate, and the rear (clutch end) of the side plate. Again, look for interference). 

 

When assembled correctly, the two screws at the ends of the side plate will look flush with the chassis when looking at the thread end. The top/center screw is set back a bit.

 

 

 

 

 

 

??? Hard to say. Is the metal disc under the drag stack on properly? If it is not properly seated, this might happen. Or it’s possible the Belleville washers in the drag are oriented improperly. They have to go on exactly how they came off, if they were on like () and they go back on like (( that might do it or could cause the plate under the drag to misalign. But those are just guesses.
