Shimano SLX XT

Featured Replies

Has anyone heard about these (other than from REEL TEST on Youtube)? They are a Shimano SLX only instead of the centrifugal pin style braking system they have a dial adjust on the side with the SVS Infinity brakes. I searched and you can find them on eBay for $120 shipped from Osaka, Japan. I mean for $20 more than the original SLX do you think the SVS braking system is that much of an upgrade over the centrifugal style?

I think it has a bearing supported main shaft as well. 4+1 instead of 3+1. Seems like a deal imo.

Looks like it is an SLX MGL without the MGL spool.  I don't care for the weird circle on the side around the brake dial but it is a good looking reel otherwise.  They probably should have dropped the SLX markings and blue accents and called it Citica as a replacement for the Ctica 200i.  I was expecting the Citica replacement to be based off the SLX.  I wonder if this means a new Citica will be Curado K based or if they will remove the Citica entirely.

One would think they would replace the citica with a x-ship reel , if they were gonna continue to offer a citica.

I believe this replaces the Casitas.
