Looking for some ideas on a flipping rod

Featured Replies

Im in the market for a new flipping rod, I have a 7'11 heavy which i use for heavy stuff like punching and using 3/4 + weights. I need a rod for lighter applications though, 1/2oz would be the heaviest I would be using. I plan to use it for t-rigs and jigs both... any suggestions, im open to any rod company but I would like to keep the cost under 120. I don't need a reel but if theres a good combo deal that you know about I am open to that too.

    Thanks, Austin

I just bought a couple Dobyns Fury rods this winter to try out this year. I also picked up a couple Ardent Pro series rods to try. Last year was my first year to really try and target bass so I am still on a huge learning curve..

I’ve actually become a big fan of the bass pro carbonite 2 rods. I’ve got three of them, all heavy actions, I use a 7’3” for swim jigs, typically 3/8oz and it works great for this, I frequently flip and pitch that set up if I’m not using my heavy punching stuff for flipping. They’re $119.99, but often go on sale for $89.99. Bass pro has a sale coming up I believe starting the 8th and it might be on sale then.
