Megabass Levante EMTF vs St Croix Mojo Bass Crankbait?

Featured Replies

Trying to narrow down my choices for a crankbait rod. Does anyone have any experience with either a Megabass Levante EMTF or a St Croix Mojo Bass Crankbait? If so, is the Megabass rod worth the extra money over the Mojo Bass?

I fished with a Mojo Bass Crankbait rod for years, definitely got the job done. That being said, the new Levante's are definitely a hitter. If you can afford it, I would go with the Levante. I'm a huge fan of Cashion rods (writing a review of them as we speak), so I'll throw in there as a in betweener (they're about $180).

I assume you mean one of three Mojo Bass Glass Cranking rods, which of course are glass-composite where the Megabass rod is graphite. Both are good rods, but they're very different rods overall. I've never got my hands on a Megabass rod although I've never heard anything bad about them (other than maybe the price) but I wouldn't have many reservations over buying a Mojo Bass glass cranking rod.

I’m waiting to get the new green Mojo Glass rod in hand to check out.
