  1. Hey everyone, i was wondering if anyone on the forum has an experience with the Megabass Destroyer FMJ rod for both frogging and throwing jigs? Looking for a rod that would perform well enough for both applications. Thanks in advance!
  2. Trying to narrow down my choices for a crankbait rod. Does anyone have any experience with either a Megabass Levante EMTF or a St Croix Mojo Bass Crankbait? If so, is the Megabass rod worth the extra money over the Mojo Bass?
  3. Looking into getting a St Croix Trout Series (6' 4", L) as a small-smallie rod/panfish/maybe even trout rod. I tried using my E6X in Medium but it just feels too powerful for the smaller sized smallmouth that im finding in some creeks/rivers. Wonder if any of y'all have some experience with this rod that they'd be willing to share?
  4. Okay perfect, that was my main concern. I have never fished in a kayak before and was worried that the extra length would be a problem. Thanks for the help!
  5. Hi guys, per my last post, i was dead set on taking the plunge and purchasing an NRX 852S JWR. That wasn't until a couple coworkers of mine try to convince me to get the 802S size instead, so back to the drawing board i went lol. I primarily fish from the bank but I'm looking into getting a kayak this summer (my cowrkers mentioned that the 852 would be far too long in a kayak). I was wondering if any of you are willing to share experience you have between the 852 and 802 in terms of performance between the two? I've always thought that the longer the rod the better, however a shorter rod might be ideal if i begin kayaking this summer?
  6. I've been able to handle the NRX several times but not the MB Addermine. From what i see in pictures, the Addermine has a nicer handle than the NRX; but again, I feel as though that 40% deal is too good to pass up lol. Especially with what you said regarding the warranties too. NRX it is for me! Ahh i see, yes i agree that 40% deal is far too tempting! I think, with everyone's input, I'm going to go with the NRX 852S!
  7. Ahh nice choice! I was also looking at the MB Addermine as well. It looks gorgeous and is a slightly lower price than the NRX regularly. However, i was fortunate enough to know someone who is able to hook me up with a 40% off deal on an NRX which is an offer that I am unsure if i could refuse lol.
  8. Thank you everyone for your comments! I decided to go with the 853C as i would like to fish jigs lighter than 3/8oz and lighter paddle tail swimbaits!
  9. Hi guys, looking into buying an all-around Spinning worm rod (wacky, T-rig, shakyhead, neko, maybe even small swimbaits) and was wondering if anyone has experience with the NRX 822S SYR // NRX 852S JWR // NRX 842 SJR if you are willing to comment on how you like them? If not, what is your favourite high-end spinning rod to use for this setup? Any advice would be appreciated!
  10. I've decided to take the plunge on purchasing an NRX. I am looking at the 853C JWR specifically as it seems to be an all-around use model. Wondering if anyone has experience with this model and know what baits it excels with? Thanks!
  11. Okay I see! If you believe the DC would work well with that setup, then I think I will go with the DC. Really interested in trying out the DC system. The only reason i leaned towards the Tranx was worrying about heavier baits but I trust your word on the DC, thanks for the help!
  12. I was planning on using maybe 40-50lb braid, and using it on my pike rod in the spring for bigger spinnerbaits/swimbaits (by "bigger" i mean maximum 1oz) and then on either a cranking rod/topwater rod in the summer for bass?
  13. Hi everyone, I am looking into purchasing a new baitcasting reel. Target species will be Pike and largemouth/smallmouth bass. Have my sights set on the Curado DC, Curado K, and the Tranx 200. I am wondering if some of you guys have any experience with these three reels and can recommend one over the other? Thanks!
  14. hahah it happened in the summer but I never got around to posting it somewhere and it was lingering on my conscience. Thank you for the reassurance!
  15. I see :(. I have used the rod a handful of times after the incident and only caught a couple small/one pounders with no noticeable difference in feel and no increase in size of the marks. But yes I am worried if i hook into something a little bigger that it completely breaks on me. I will look into their warranty just in case, thanks for your response! I know, it hurt my soul to see, especially since it is my most expensive rod too. I agree with your mentality on loaning things. Lessons have been learned i guess.
  16. Hi guys, So i just bought a new G Loomis E6X casting rod and was super stoked to try it out. i went out bank fishing with a buddy of mine and I decided to hand him the rod to see how he liked it (my stupid decision). He was twitching a popping frog a couple times when he went a little too close to a concrete ledge and nicked the rod on the concrete. I inspected the rod and it only looks like a scuff but I am a bit paranoid if it got permanently damaged? I'm relatively new to fishing and not sure whether it's damaged or if its just a scuff. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks.
