15lb braid to fluoro to for finesse?

Featured Replies

I had 15lb hi viz power pro kicking around that I ended up spooling on my finesse rod with 6lb sunline, then I got seeing people say they never use over 10lb braid for finesse so it got me rethinking. This going to be an issue at all in anyone's opinion?

Not an issue, imo.

But, we might better discuss potential issues if you describe your gear, conditions, lures, etc.

For example, crystal clear water with ultra light rod throwing 1/10 oz ned is finesse.  But, in my muddy reservoir, I might call it finesse when I throw a 6.5 inch Swamp Mover on a 5/16 oz shakey head.

Lakes around here that fish tend to be pretty clear usually at least 6+ feet of visibility, often 10+

I'd probably be throwing 3/16 ounce Shakey heads or 1/10 ounce needs to give an example

A #8 lb. FC Leader (6') to #15 lb. Braid would be just fine for finesse.

The only difference with the 10 instead of 15 is the reduced diameter which will give your reel a great capacity and also perhaps a increase in casting distance with the lighter line. Both of which are minor issues so tie on some 7lb sniper flouro and bobs your uncle.
