Bottom color of boat

Featured Replies

Has anyone ever read or experienced any relation or effect of bottom color of boat and results when fishing. I was watching a show that involved diving and noticed the boat above gave an ominous feel to the shot. Made me wonder if there may be a more stealthy color for a boat bottom over another one. :-/

Absolutely BS  :)

I know plenty of guys whose boats have bright red bottoms and have no problem catching; enter the Low Budget Hooker

Never noticed the problem. My boat is silver and my son's is white. Have heard this mentioned over the years, but never put any stock into it.

I remember reading many years ago that the pro's prefered black bottoms but have not heard this in years. Every fish that comes to mind has a white bottom and I have always thought they were camo'ed pretty well.......................Al

I've had both black and white bottom hulls, and friends with about every other color. We all caught plenty of fish.
