finally got got a trolling motor (minn kota fortrex 80) and after getting on the water for the first time noticed it looked odd. Just trying to figure out if it’s an issue.

Yeah... Uh.. I don't think that's supposed to be like that. 

I've never seen one permanently bent out of shape like that. Looks like it whacked something pretty good.  

there is usually an adjustable leg attached to the aluminum frame that rests on the deck. This supports the motor when it is stowed. It has a graphite shaft. It may be bowed because it is not stowing properly.

I have bowed mine a long way, hitting trees, and it always snaps back.

does it look bent when it is deployed?

It’s brand new, never hit nothing and it was the first time out on the water with it. Box looked fine when it showed up.
