St Croix BXC74MHMF - techniques?

Featured Replies

So I was in a Bass Pro the other day jut before closing, and I impulsively bought a St Croix Bass X 7'4" medium-heavy, moderate-fast. My question is, what techniques are recommended for this rod? I can't find much about this model online. Is it suitable for crankbaits, say in the 6XD size range?

I like a 7'6 for 6XD's.

Mojo 7'6 medium heavy mod fast , is a nice rod.

The 7'4 rod you looked at would be a nice lipless rod.

Drew,

On a recent episode of Lindner's Angling Edge they singled out this rod as being an excellent option for fishing Tokyo rigs.

Buzzbaits, whopper ploppers in my hands.  I owned that rod for a few days before returning it.

That rod is very versatile.  Spinner baits, swim jigs, small swim baits like keitechs, chatter baits, buzz baits, biggish crank baits (excellent for 5 and 6xd).

I have owned one since they came out and love it for moving baits.
